2025 Kilowatt Cup Mine Hockey Tournament

5 on 5 modified ASHL rules

3-team round-robin format - 3 Games per team
-
Games will be 2-20 minute straight time periods
-
Slap shots will be allowed
-
Penalties will be penalty shots
-
Each and every game will end in a shootout for prizes

In the round-robin: games tied at the end of regulation will be settled by the same shootout as described below (i.e. you win the game and the prizes)

For a tie game in the playoff rounds only. There will be a 2-minute, 3-on-3 sudden-death playoff in the event of a tie. If it is still tied after 2 minutes, the game will be decided in a shootout.

If teams are tied after the round-robin, the attached tiebreaker will be used to determine the playoff position

You must complete a waiver to play in the tournament

Every participant will get their name entered in the draw for tournament prizes upon receipt of the waiver

Full-service concession and lounge area in the arena complex will be open for the duration of the tournament
-
Anyone fighting in the tournament will be ejected from the tournament and could be banned from future tournaments

Team Power Solutions, GMR Electric Motors Ltd and STCI Power Solutions are proud supporters of the White Buffalo Youth Lodge. All proceeds from this tournament will be donated to support the back-to-school backpack carnival for underprivileged children; each team will receive a receipt

Playoff Rules
Tie-Breaking Rules In the event that teams are tied for a playoff position, the following tie-breaking procedure will apply.
Tie Breaking Sequence

Two Teams Tied
-
If two or more teams are tied at the conclusion of a round-robin series, then the following procedure will be used to determine the final ranking before final games are played.

The winner of the round-robin game between the two tied teams gains the higher position.

The team with the most wins in the round-robin gains the higher position.

If the two teams are still tied, then the team with the best goal average gains the higher position. The goal average of a team is to be determined in the following manner:

Total number of goals for divided by the total number of goals for and against.

NOTE: All round robin games are included.

Example: For = 10 goals against = 4 goals Percentage 10 10+4 = .714

NOTE: The higher percentage gains the higher position
-
If the two teams are still tied, a single coin toss will determine which team gains the higher position.

The team with the most wins (among tied teams) would gain the highest position.

If teams are still tied after, then the team with the best goal average gains the highest position. The goal average of a team is to be determined in the following manner: total number of goals for divided by total number of goals for and against

If teams are still tied a coin toss shall determine the winner. All three teams flip a coin, In a 3 team coin toss; the odd team gains the highest position. Another coin toss determines the 2nd place team.
